too often conservatives use religious doctrine to pass laws that controls what goes on in the bedroom–such as birth control acces or abortion for low income women

  • Hunter

If that were true then homosexuality would be a felony.

  • Dustin Bennett

Condoms are free at most local health clinics or 3 for a buck at a gas station. There is your free access to birth control you liberal troll. As far as abortion goes, the ONLY reason it is OK is if the mother’s life is in danger. There are plenty of people who cannot have children that want them so adoption is there. “I don’t want to ruin my figure” is NOT a valid excuse for abortion. GTFO.

  • Nightfallz

What does low income have to do with anything? Oh, you mean because they are poor I have to foot the bill for their abortion or birth control. You say ‘access’ when the word you should be using is ‘subsidy’. Enough with the communist class warfare. There are no classes in the US regardless of the BS you believe.

  • F. De Moraes

Have the decency of being honest, it is not about “abortion for low income women”, it is about eugenics!

  • John Deane

There’s no law denying anyone access to birth control. There ARE arguments, that have been upheld as valid in the Federal Appeals Court in DC, that a private business should not have to provide for coverage that impinges on their exercise of their rights, in this case religious freedoms. The argument is thus: If a person can wear religious apparel that is outside of normal dress requirements (For examples, head coverings, scarves, etc) based off of religious freedoms then the same employer should be able to exercise their own religious beliefs. Fair simple.

Abortion for low income women? Well let’s see, since birth control is cheaper than cheap for low income persons (which I am one of BTW) at $10 a month for birth control pills, free condoms at multiple places, and cheap (and effective) condoms running for as little as $1 for 2 or 3 of them, then by that rationale abortion should have to rarely be used at all. As for cost, IF you are actually Low Income then Medicare/Medicaid (Depending on your situation) covers the cost of the abortion or makes it so inexpensive that it’s laughable. Where I am a person on Medicaid pays $50 for an abortion. That’s it.

Yes there are VERY RARE cases that abortions are necessary, such as to save the life of the mother, or if the fetus dies naturally during pregnancy, or even in the almost non-existent situation whereby a rape victim gets pregnant.

Seriously, the separation of Church and State is one of the fundamental concepts of the United States and one of the major tenants that the country was built upon.

  • Lana Leitner Butler

I do wish you would run spell check. To misspell Constitution and not correct it, makes you look lazy and very disrespectful.

  • Jack Panter

Like all socialist/communist pigs, Adolph Hitler loved the slaughter of the unborn. So my question is how long to you think it will be before so called “liberals” start killing off others they find undesirable or unuseful to their Marxist Utopian dream?.

  • James N. Samples

If you have a dozen or so kids by a dozen or so baby daddies, or you have eight kids in one sitting, you do not deserve ANY aid AT ALL.

It’s been ALL YOU from the beginning, and like John Deane stated, it’s not against the law to allow someone birth control.

  • Ms Prosperity

There are many reason besides a woman’s life being in danger that call for abortion The reasons most frequently cited were that having a child would interfere with a woman’s education, work
or ability to care for dependents (74%); that she could not afford a baby now (73%); and that she did not want to be a
single mother or was having relationship problems (48%). Nearly four in 10 women said they had completed their
childbearing, and almost one-third were not ready to have a child. Fewer than 1% said their parents’ or partners’
desire for them to have an abortion was the most important reason. Younger women often reported that they were
unprepared for the transition to motherhood, while older women regularly cited their responsibility to dependents.

  • Dustin Bennett

Like I said, there is always adoption. None of the reasons you gave are valid for killing a human life.

  • Karl William Raymond Stack

And adoption solves every one of those problems, no murder required! So what was your point again?

  • Karl William Raymond Stack

I think a better direct comparison might be this:

“The government has no business trying to control what goes on in my bedroom…”
“The government has an obligation to pay for what goes on in my bedroom…”

This is an extremely common liberal double standard, where the government has no business with anything they want to do UNLESS it costs money, in which case it suddenly becomes the governments business.

  • James Cupp

    Name one.

  • James Cupp

Then she should have known how to NOT get pregnant, which is pretty simple.

  • Jess Golden

Not everyone can stand up to the family pressures if they considered adoption. Some families would disown a woman for “giving up my grandchild for adoption”. Often times it is a result of emotional blackmail. Keeping your figure is far from the reason most women would choose abortion.

Also consider this: One woman I knew got an abortion instead of adoption because the man she was with was physically abusive. She knew that if she carried the pregnancy to term that the odds of physical abuse on her daughter would only escalate. Adoption was out of the question because if she severed her parental rights, her daughter would only have ended up in the hands of her physically abusive father. By physically abusive, I mean he was literally punching her for no reason as well as throwing her up against the wall.

She decided she didn’t want to bring her daughter into that environment, so she got an abortion instead.

Try seeing in the terms of bigger picture instead of being so blind.

  • Jess Golden

    Big Picture:

Average cost of an abortion: $250 to $4000
Average cost to raise a child from birth to 18: $250,000+

There will always be those women who use abortion as a form of birth control–its just one of those evils of society.

  • sharon

Then maybe you should just say no, or maybe do something so you don’t get pregnant. Sorry, murder should not be a health care option. It is no longer your body, it is another human being, you should not be able to kill a baby, because it has become an inconvenience to you.

  • sharon

Knowing she was having a “daughter” means she was well beyond the legal abortion option. She should be in jail; she is as abusive as her boyfriend is. That is the bigger picture, she is a murderer

  • Jess Golden

She was 3 months when she got the abortion. She knew after the fact. Please ask for more info on the situation before assuming…

  • Dustin Bennett

Instead of killing her child, she could have left the abusive relationship. Your reasons are still not valid enough to justify killing a child. The ONLY valid reason is if the mother’s life is in danger. There are always options, try to not be so narrow minded.

  • Dustin Bennett

Average cost of a box of condoms: 1 to 5 dollars. Average cost of keeping your damn legs closed: 0 dollars. You have absolutely no valid arguments to justify abortion. None.

  • sharon

So she killed her baby first; then decided after the fact; that she did not want her daughter subjected to the abuse? The story, does not follow a logical sequence. Anyone can tell the tale; after the fact. Sounds like she is justifying the end, so she is not seen as a monster. Guess what, she is a murderer. Hope she feels good about herself, when you can fabricate the entire middle of the story; to justify the end.

  • TheElfHerself

Only about 2% or cases involve life of the mother issues or rape/incest. Even if only that was allowed we would save a lot of children. If you can’t care for a child, don’t get pregnant. Duh. If you’re too stupid to use birth control (or it fails), then put the kid up for adoption. I’m surprised you’re for abortion, what with having a kid and being targeted by abortion clinics.
